When You Arrive - Registration
Please check in at the front desk of the hotel. You will be greeted with a light snack and checked in to your room.

Conference registration and check-in is outside of the Nhyiemu Room, 1st floor. Please check in here for your conference assignment, and to pick up your agenda and conference name tag.

Please bring your travel receipts with you to conference check-in and registration.

Dinner will be provided Tuesday evening to all participants in the hotel restaurant from 6:00PM-9:00PM.
Summit Speakers
Ian Tarimo is a passionate youth leader who believes that education is a powerful tool for solving the existing community challenges and shaping the future. He holds a bachelor of science in information technology. He has years of experience working in community project management and leadership. Collaboration, creativity, humility, diversity, and integrity are key values that guide Ian’s leadership style. Ian is a member of local, national, and international networks. He uses these platforms to influence systemic changes by advocating for better and inclusive policies. He is currently an active member of the Young African Leadership Initiative, funded by the U.S. State Department. He is also a Global Shapers Community (under World Economic Forum).
Eldrid Jordaan is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of GovChat.Org, the Official Citizen Engagement Platform for the South African Government. Eldrid Jordaan is a former Ministerial Special Advisor and served as a Advisory Board Member at Mxit. Eldrid Jordaan currently serves as Digital Communications Advisor to various African Governments and is a United States of America Department of State IVLP Alumni. Eldrid has recently been appointed by the University of Johannesburg Business School as a Senior Research Associate.
Ms. Rita Aciro -Lakor is currently the Executive Director of Uganda Women’s Network (UWONET) the leading National Women’s Rights Network in Uganda with longstanding interests and passion in gender, women’s rights, governance and democracy, organisational development, participatory poverty research, advocacy, coalition building, fundraising and results based management.

Ms Aciro has sat and serves on a number of civil society, donor / development partners and Government committees such as the Parliamentary Committee on Gender Budgeting, Social Protection committee Ministry of Gender Labour and Social Development, the UN Joint programme on gender equality, the 7th Country programme of UNFPA, the Joint Programme on GBV of Irish Aid and government of Uganda, the Steering Committee of the European Union on the Social Accountability fund.
The National Commission for Civic Education

The National Commission for Civic Education is an independent, non-partisan governance institution set up under Article 231 of the Constitution of the Republic of Ghana and the National Commission for Civic Education Act, 1993, Act 452 of the Parliament of Ghana. The Commission works to promote and sustain democracy and inculcate in the Ghanaian citizenry, the awareness of their rights and obligations, through civic education.
Covid Precautions, Masks
All summit participants are encouraged to wear a face covering, though it is not mandatory.
Pre-Departure Covid Testing
Pre-departure Covid testing for returning to your home country will be provided by the summit on Thursday, May 26 at 11:00AM at no cost to the participant for those who need a negative test to re-enter their home country.
If you have chosen to travel outside of the summit dates, it is your responsibility to book and pay for your own travel Covid test.
SUMMIT PARTICIPANT ASSIGNMENTS
The ACEA summit is designed around participant engagement and participant-led activities. To this end, every summit attendee will be assigned a position and responsibility upon check-in.

TRAVEL COSTS AND REIMBURSEMENTS
Please understand that reimbursement for COVID testing, ground transportation, and visa fees will require your completion of accounting paperwork and presentation of valid receipts.
Receipts might include ground or water transportation, visa fees, and Covid testing fees (if applicable).
IF you are a traveler with an OVERNIGHT LAYOVER requiring a hotel stay, we will reimburse your hotel fee (up to $150 USD) and $50 in meal per diem as well.
If you provided wire instructions, please expect your reimbursement within 5-7 business days.

All receipts for reimbursement must be submitted in person at the designated summit registration times. Tuesday, 4PM-6PM & Wednesday, 7:30AM-8:30AM
Only those who have not provided banking information ahead of the summit will be reimbursed with cash on site. All those who provided banking and and wire instructions will receive a wired reimbursement. No exceptions.
