UGA MWF Professional Development Mentors (PDMs) are senior faculty members at the University of Georgia with significant leadership and international experiences, and considerable professional networks. Through guidance, advice and professional mentoring, PDMs maintain mentoring relationships with a group of fellows during the Institute. PDMs are required to fulfil six collaborative expectations:

  • Be available at a minimum of 1-2hrs per week for 6 weeks

  • Meet weekly (1 hour) with group of mentees (five per PDM) with optional individual follow up meetings as needed each week

  • Connect Fellows with campus and community resources to optimize learning and professional development

  • Check-in on Fellows regarding Institute experience

  • Provide support and feedback to Fellows on their Institute’s deliverables.

  • Collect and share Fellows’ feedback and suggestions with MWF team for improved Institute’s experience

Each PDM serves as adviser, mentor, and friend to a group of five (5) fellows.
